Because Helena starts off nice and gentle, leading you into false sense of security. Then Gerard drops down his pants and the whole thing just pops off, it's great.

as an european, this band and the connected scene completely passed me by during the 00s and 2010s but since becoming a fan of millenial vtubers who grew up with this band and sing their songs at karaoke all the time, ive slowly come to appreciate their songs.

Yeah, this band completely passed me in the 2000s as well, probably due to the fact that I was only born in 2004. But I have been listening to this band since around 2010/11, and I have to say not only do I like them more now but I find more things to appreciate about them as well.

Didn't start listening to MCR until they broke up ~2013 because I only associated them with the weird "emo" kids (picture the over-the-top poser-y kind) in middle school / high school who seemed to worship their Welcome to the Black Parade look.
Have come to love them though.
