Yeah I think honestly if he'd released just those 8 songs with maybe 'Paper bag' thrown in that'd have been better / even better (critically) received.
I still like the ridiculousness of the project, that impenetrable bog in the middle of the tracklist. Still amuses me but in conventional enjoyment terms 9 songs was probably sufficient here.

I've edited it down to about 40 minutes myself, even though I like most of the songs I've cut. It's just too long. Maybe he should have pulled a Justin Timberlake and released it as two albums.

Every song on here is great, but it is a bit much as a whole. If "Leaving LA" were dropped or if just listened to in two halves, it works wonders. (even though I do kind of enjoy "Leaving LA")

I agree. It's just too long and too monotonous; but the material - especially the lyrical content - is outstanding.

We have very different ideas of "outstanding lyrics" I guess. I tried, I really tried, but the music is too samey, it's way too long, and the lyrics are annoying as hell to me.

Popping in to remind everyone that this is the worst album of the year. Lyrics are garbage. Instrumentals are lifeless. It's probably in my top 10 worst albums ever made.
