yeah this place isn't the most welcoming (esp since every new user is dismissed as an alt lol) but I can't see myself leaving anytime soon... it's addictive...like facebook but discussing things i actually enjoy with like minded people who have 2 brain cells to rub together.

It's an okay site indeed. I've met some really awesome people that have shared with me some of my now favorite albums. There are a lot of garbage users everywhere on the internet that just want to troll, but it doesn't take long to figure out which users are worth ignoring. The metal community here for the most part are all decent folks.

it's been a hoot and a half seeing this place transform over a decade, but the metal folks have stayed mostly the same

while I can enjoy parts of it, a lot of beautiful melodies and stuff, I constantly have the feeling that something is missing. looks like this kind of atmo bm is not really my cup. I need it faster or more cold, this is almost too warm for black metal.

@Analog

Try 'The Light That Dwells In Rotten Wood'.

It's a little more dark, but still melodic.

Personally it's a much better album.

I'm gonna jam that one, seems to be the one that always comes up as their best.

This one definitely dabbles in more of that post-rock sound at times, but they use it very effectively. Been jamming this every day since it came out and I'm still finding new parts to enjoy.

After jamming this a second time, it's absolutely one of the top tier albums released so far this year.

I'm not. This album is amazing. The songwriting is top notch and full of subtly. They play with a lot of emotion and know exactly how to channel it!
