this record comes alive live. i turned into a fan seeing him live yesterday and now hearing a broadcast of him playing in LA. short pieces of songs here sure but the way that he extends sick jazz breaks into them and interweaving some of the songs like what feels DJ mix-y is entertaining as hell.

it's not the same sort of vibe at all
this is just fun. mostly humorous lyrics (some just cringey), great instrumentation, nice quick bursts of energy, relatively easy to listen to
it fits a certain mood/feeling very well for me at least

Surprised a borderline comedy album is making such inroads in the critic AOTY lists, maybe he’s a nice fella and you’ve got to embrace his personality/shtick - honestly found the first six tracks 0.5 quality, then it rallies a tiny bit - but the dude can’t sing, he doesn’t compose particularly arresting music, I don’t get swept up in an amazing rush of fun.
Real oddball this album, can safely say not for after giving it two full spins and a few aborted efforts in between.

Hahaha you really couldn't stomach this one Doof. I hated it at first and it's def not my thing but whatever he does, he does it right, great bass player too and managed to do smth slightly original which it's rare in these times.
Also agreed with Evok, alcohol helps with this album.
