I liked Pink Up, Can I Sit and Whisper - plus the closer is nice enough too of course

I'm quite baffled by that rating anat - I genuinely don't see how this is significantly weaker than any other Spoon album - hell even Doof gave it a 3. And the electronics don't seem thrown in for the sake of it at all, if anything they are a natural progression from They Want My Soul and they seem really well incorporated to me. This is probably their most sonically interesting album and I think they managed that without sacrificing the songwriting or the main elements that make Spoon Spoon.

beyond a couple of tracks, I don't think this is sonically interesting at all. the beats are so uninspired and domineering, the production tricks we're used to just come in the form of panning things uncomfortably. the subtlety and grooves that I love them for are just missing.

This is gud (as always) but tbh I had higher hopes after the singles, the deeper cuts on this (songs 6-9) are pretty forgettable. The dancy direction is pre nice, but overall it's one of their weaker albums.

For the time being it probably doesn't crack my top 3 Spoon but on the whole I'm preferring it to They Want My Soul and Gimme Fiction as well as Transference and their first two albums.

The first four tracks on Gimme Fiction are my favorite run of Spoon songs on any of their albums but it drops off pretty significantly after that imo.

This album's atmosphere and identity are super great but some tracks are indeed forgettable

Amazing closer and opener tho
