This is just such a tonal curiosity. Were they going for some bizarre levity with the end whistling, and the random interspersed band dialogue, and the ten-second wah-drenched pseudo-blues guitar solo to begin the record?



The band have nowhere near the songwriting chops to execute the dramatic drop-offs that are so prevalent here, either.



And does he say 'masturbate' in The Zero, or am I hearing things?



And the falsetto in the "Doris" choruses... I get what he's trying to do, but it sounds like someone imitating Chino Moreno, badly, in the shower.
