the gaze elements are few and far between, and when they nail em they NAIL EM (chocolate matter)
and the cartoony melodies are kinda half the appeal with these guys so if that vibe doesnt work for u yea ur not gonna be a fan. rlly dont understand how someone could hear air supply and not go jesus that was amazing but w/eeee

it's like they've got all the ingredients to bake a perfect cake, but the final mixture is somehow overworked and underbaked i dig this desc a lot.
there are plenty of directions they could have gone after vdc, i think this was an odd one, still. some songs on here could fit perfectly as a single on a full-on synthpop/synthwave album. not sure what was rollin' through their heads, but i'm v happy wit it nonetheless.

its indie pop. albeit very good indie pop, ala the lounge/ space rock tendencies of stereolab. vdc is glitch pop and a whole bunch of other things (idm, shoegaze)

I remember hearing some of the songs were recorded at the same time as vdc. I've come to like the sound of this album even more. At least we have kero kero bonito to thank for making ywnkw part 2
