New summary is great.
Review is kinda shaky. Rating on this album alternates between a 2.5 and a 3.0 it depends how generous i want to be to it. It has some MAJOR fucking problems but if I want to give it credit for anything it's that plenty of the songs on here are pretty decent. If you took the best 10 songs on this album, made it to a cohesive album and ditched the idea of a concept you'd have something on the same level of quality as revolution radio tbh

This review isn't bad. A bit of filler makes it longer than it needs to be (like: "(Random side note: According to Wikipedia, some dip*** writing for The Observer compared this album favorably to Chuck Palahniuk’s writing. I could honestly write a whole separate review on how stupid that comparison is.)"
"Oh, did I mention this album is 18 tracks and nearly 70 ***ing minutes long? Because it is."
This wasn't needed, it's assumed that it's long from the whole review.

That's an important detail when discussing the many failings of this album but it definitely could've been worded better especially because the majority of people who read this already know that

I just find this album to be far too over-ambitious and tryhard, whereas American Idiot felt much more natural. It was ambitious, sure, but it just seemed to flow a lot better.

Rambly, track-by-tracky, reads like a chaotic "edgy" rant, and those are a dime a dozen. You make good points, but nothing I haven't heard about this album. Work on your wording, drop the insults towards 15-year-olds and random profanities (believe me, they're distracting), chill the hell out in general, and keep writing, you'll hopefully get better with practice.
Also, they were not in their 40s yet when this album came out, so the new summary is still misleading.

Good review. This really isn't my genre anymore but I used to like a fair bit of punk. Went through all of Green Day's discog in that day (except the trilogy) and even at the age of 16 I really didn't like TFCB. Admittedly adored American Idiot but couldn't stand this record. Warning is better than this.

This has enough songs that i like that i cant justify rating it lower than a 3 but enough severe problems that i cant justify rating it above a 3
Weird album for me in that respect

"Really, how good did a 70-minute-long punk album ever have a chance of being?"
You don't listen to a lot of punk do you
Ok anyway so, The Clash's London Calling, Hüsker Dü's Zen Arcade, Black Flag's Live '84
Off the top of my head
