There is almost nothing original about this band, the chanting is a gimmick and it is essentially just clean singing in a metal album and that's been done like a milliooonn times. The riffs are flacid and lack true power, I swear they sound the same as every other dime a dozen BM band from the 2010's, vocals are mediocre at best.

I actually dug the riffs, they were really catchy albeit simple.

Sometimes simplicity is used to excellent effect.

well what a deep and bold statement, almost as deep and bold as this album.

here, i've got another one for you for free: Sometimes the combination of a gimmick and harmless mediocrity can lead to critical acclaim.

the riffs are neither catchy, intriguing, memorable, emotional etc. they feel as the rest of the album extremely sterile.

u seem to be under the impression that "critical acclaim" is some sort of prized possession that bands should strive for, when here it's just people liking it, and u seem quite bothered that other people enjoy it. it's not that deep, fam, quit playing a hardass

also, ~intriguing riffs~

nope not at all

in the end one can always say there is no point in arguing over music. everyone has his own preferences, his own perception how a certain kind of music has to be. the very worst: " but some people enjoy it, so let it be" there is no fun in such an approach.

"also, ~intriguing riffs~"

is this a weird formulation ? I'm not a native speaker so I lack a certain feeling for the "right words"

i don't want you to stop discussing music, i just want you to not get that pissed and bitchy and full of vitriol about it

oh, not at all! it's good syntactically, but it sounds silly when coupled with the other stuff you said, it comes across like you're expecting music to be a more than it is, and really reminds me of hardcore metalhead fans who complain about how a band's riffs are not 'trve enough', or like you're about to talk about how 'technical' this band is

your english is good, don't worry >:]

just tried to compensate for the blandness of this album with a little bit of vitriolic rhetoric...

eh, nah but really thanks for the explanation Asdfp277. I know I tend to get unnecessary antagonistic just for the sake of it.

pr consulting by Josef Fritzl? sounds like a bad idea to me
