This being the same rating as Crash Love and worse than Bodies is complete bs. This is leagues ahead of both albums.

Vrash Love is great though

Crash Love > Burials > Blood > Bodies - oh no do they keep getting worse...
Crash Love > Missing Man > Burials > Blood > Bodies - nah :-)

I think Get Hurt has probably grown on me the most out of any of these. fun track

I wish I could see in this what you guys see in this. Still a hardcore fanboy but for the most part, I never revisit this. Have exhausted all my attempts

Get Hurt rules. This whole album rules. One day you guys will get it.

I dont think so sir, The Wind That Carries Me Away is really the only track on here that stands out at all to me

It's a good album, but not 5 good. White Offerings is pretty bland, and repeats the chorus way too many times, for example.

i feel like the band realized white offerings ain't it lol. iirc, it was only played consistently for the first few blood shows and then never came back

I believe that was the albums lead single too if I am remembering correctly haha

yeah, that and Snow Cats were the same day!
i remember hearing the preview to White Offerings thinking it was gonna be fucking HUGE but the preview was basically the song lmao

I like White Offerings and Snow Cats but they're towards the bottom. I don't think they're remotely bad though, I don't skip any songs on here

I feel like the climax issue I have with this band becomes more prevalent each album
I think Still A Stranger, So Beneath You, and She Speaks The Language all hit for sure in the bridge. Dark Snow, Pink Eyes, and Dumb Kids aren't necessarily huge but their bridges work well still for what they are/in their context. Aurelia and The Wind That Carries Me Away feel so tepid compared to what they could've been. not bad, just missed a mark imo. just a few examples too for each category

They will just never re-capture the magic of their STS climaxes, so many tracks just sounded monumental when reaching their peaks
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
Especially with AFIs penchant for never wanting to make the same album twice. We'll never get a STS 2, even in spirit.

I think their direction choice has actually been consistently great, it's just the execution that falls a bit flat. Bodies could've been outstanding, i swear

Yeah, they showed that they can still kick ass with missing man ep. Bodies just wasn’t enough.
