saw them late last year in Toronto and the crowd loved the old stuff. the 8-foot tall dude directly in front of me was still heard screaming 'play Cruise Control' in between every song though.

I don't know what that means, but I have no recollection of my own comments from just a month ago. I must have been drunk as FUCK

"the 8-foot tall dude directly in front of me was still heard screaming 'play Cruise Control' in between every song though"
did they play it then?

fuck no lmao. they don't play any of those old songs anymore, and I think the guy knew that and was just being ironic. They did play Dumb Kids from the new album though which has a vey old school vibe. The oldest stuff they played was from Art of Drowning.

I knew they were switching up the set a lot lately which is awesome frankly (wish more bands did that...) but I had no idea they were playing anything off Shut Your Mouth besides A Single Second occasionally. If they ever played Third Season I would die man

Decent record, but every song starts to sound the same after a couple of listens. Was hoping for something along the lines of Burials - that album kicks ass. Plan on seeing these guys this summer, they're gonna rock that place out !

the album's good tracks still sound super solid a few months later. I think the production is what is holding this back the most, it all comes out a little flat. It works better for punkier songs like So Beneath You or Dumb Kids but definitely not for the whole album

This record is amazing. If anything it grows into its own after multiple listens.
In case anyone hasn't seen this, there's a video from a few days ago of Chino and Davey geeking out about their love of The Cure. It's literally the greatest thing that's ever happened to me.

...Davey is so gay. Or Bi. Or Omni. Or whatever you want to call it. I know he's a very private person and has never officially come out and Jade will testify that he is straight but come on... He's as gay as my dick is long. Love you Davey...

Not that it matters, but if anything Davey is bi. Dude has had longterm girlfriends, but there are pictures of him looking pretty comfy with guys, too.

I'm a straight male and I pray Davey is at least bi so I have a chance.
