imo it seems pretty hard to dislike, i feel there's a least one track than anyone can jam hard to, a pretty broad palette of moods are displayed throughout, idk man i dig hard

the worst thing about it (not counting Sam France's vocals because he's been the weakest link in Foxygen imo, but that's not exactly a bad thing) is just how obnoxious the music can get at times

I really fucking hate musicals and Hang is like a big flamboyant musical (well, the band actually described it as going to Disneyland)
Hmm I really fucking hate musicals too so I guess that's promising in a way. Then again The Decemberists are super theatrical too and one of my favorite bands (though very different stylistically from Foxygen) so who knows.
As long as there's good songwriting to back the theatricality I should be fine.

depends on how much u dig that vaudeville aesthetic, ya feel?

Good review Fripperman, pos'd. Not sure how to feel about the album though. It's good but I think I need to spin it again to fully assimilate it. My first thought after the first 2 songs was "Do they really need 6 guys to play this?"
One Night and Frogs are my fave.

good for him, i'm moderately against drugs as in, i wouldn't have a problem with them if people knew what's too far and how to take care of oneself

yeah
the cover of the terror is a picture of a kid at a park he goes to, he noticed the kid took a few tabs of acid and was just sitting there in the middle of the park and how it freaked him out when he took a picture of the kid and he didn't even react
also heard some stories of people on acid at their shows freaking out so there's that

funny tho cause acid has almost definitely played a part in their success

I would associate this more with acid than with weed, yeah.

worth pointing that out Drozd has had many issues with drugs that are definitely more than just weed, and he's as big a factor in their music as Wayne is (perhaps even higher in the instrument department). just cos Wayne sticks to the bud doesn't rule out other drugs as influences for their music (the Terror was half inspired by a relapse after all)

definitely
one of the best songs on Soft Bulletin is pretty much all about Drozd's experiences, one of which was his nearly losing his arm due to his heroin habit

Fearless Freaks is worth a watch, esp to understand the influence drug habits had on the band
