That last one seems to be you trying to say: 'if you think something is a problem then you *can't handle it*' which is a pretty infantile and obnoxious way of trying to misrepresent what I said to satisfy your worldview which is ignorant and pretty wrong.



Part of just generally having a critical outlook on everything we consume media-wise is about understanding the limitations of everything. Yeah that can be difficult but it's worth doing because you get an understanding of how and why seemingly small things can affect other things.

Related to what I said - if you actually listen I said that background 'misogyny/racism/classism - whatever you want - is more harmful than explicit when the media is consumed en masse.



Simply the reason behind this is that people are much more aware of the problem when it's right in your face - like the misogyny in the early the weeknd stuff. When it's a background problem it usually only serves to build up a picture of what is *normal* to a lot of people.



Hence why people might be against alt-right groups and white supremacy speeches, and being overtly racist BUT no-one really as easily dismisses under-representation of black people in work/media/positions of power. Because it's background and it builds up an understanding in people of what is *normal*.

I have this rated as a 2 mostly because it's dull, but people's repsonses to me literally prove my point that people get normalised to this stuff. And when someone questions it they get angry and can't understand why it's a problem...
