This album has some serious potential. Its sound is way too loose, it all kind of blends together and you can't make any of the melodies out. I think a remaster is exactly what it needs.

oh well. honestly I don't know much about the band in their current-day situation.
Tin Drum kind of amended the looseness problem I think this album has, but since it's got a strict theme that it adhered to I feel it missed a lot of opportunity for Sylvian and co. to express themselves like they did here. it's a dang shame

The way many remasters work, I'd rather not have one.

liking this band over time much more than i ever expected i would. same thing happened when i started listening to XTC. I think part of me just can't accept how much great music was produced in this era

Not sure I've only heard the 2003 remaster I think but this album and Tin Drum are gold

The backing of Methods of Dance is high, HIGH tier stuff in early-80s pop. Fucking hell it's golden.

That tune ended up being my most replayed one from this album, it's just so beautifully composed and elegantly catchy.

I could play The Width of a Room on a loop for a whole day

The title track is madly cozy in Oil on Canvas
