This is getting better with every listen, those two bonus tracks are simply not from this world, that cold wave vibe along with Mikaels otherworldly clean vocals....I would give a fortune if they would make a complete album like this.

I didn't like this one as much as Construct, and I feel that the album kind of hits a lull in the second half, but it's still a really solid album. I'd honestly put this near the middle of their discography. It's still a DT record, so it's a great listen regardless.

Yeah, after listening to this yesterday and then revisiting Construct just now, I definitely think Construct has the edge. This still has lots of great moments, though.

Agreed. Construct is honestly one of my favorite DT albums, so I'm not shocked that it didn't live up to it. Still plenty of jams here though. The title track is one of my favorite songs of the year.

Title track absolutely rules agreed.

I think Construct has a bit more substance, but I just think the tracks here are all so good. Not a one that doesn't hit the feels button for me.

Show was super fun. Swallow the Sun warmed us up with doomy atmospherics, and then DT had people crawling the walls. We brought one of my wife's best friends along for her first metal show, and she was going crazy!
Enforcer was rough, though. Yikes! We missed the first band.

I so want to enjoy this album more than I do, but after a few listens I've already grown mostly disinterested. It improves upon some aspects of Construct without feeling like a step forward, just a stagnation. A few fleeting moments signal something greater, but the album never embraces any distinct direction, and it's taken this for me to realize what's been missing since Fiction.

I thought Enforcer was fun for what they were, and they got the crowd primed. Swallow the Sun was great, their sound was spot-on and really heavy, and of course DT were excellent. Too much crowd surfing though, that one dude in the Shadows Fall shirt must have been up on the stage like 10 times at least.

Nothing different from Contrast but for me it's a good thing .

Seems to be the case every time! If I recall, your friend had his glasses broken by a crowd surfer at the Insomnium show, yea? I think I spotted you up near the front at one point.

Setlist looks pretty awesome to me overall. They are playing all of my favorite tracks from the new album! I wish there was more from Character though. Through Smudged Lenses is one of my least favorite tracks from that album.

Yup, and this time the girl in front of me in the front row had her glasses knocked off and then subsequently crushed.
I was in the center of the second row for all of DT's set.
