I was going to comment just that. Hated this band's debut simply because I can't listen to Shane without Micah.

I thought melodies were something these guys did really well. Should I check this or nah?

There was supposed to be a new Oh Sleeper album this year

Oh shit I hope so.

I liked one song off of the other album and everything else just didn't stick at all. I love Shane's vocals harsh and clean and I've been a fan of As I Lay Dying since I was in high school. For some reason, this mashup just doesn't do anything for me.
Agreed the clean vocals for the first album was what made them different.

This is okay. Still like the debut a lot more though.

The screaming and down-tuning here kinda does away with what made Wovenwar interesting in the first place, but I'll admit it's very well-executed. Blay is a melodic powerhouse here. Would love to see more in the semi-industrial vein of "Compass" and "Silhouette."

I feel like it would be hard to tie that in with the sound they've developed.

this band isn't AILD in the slightest tbh

It's the same guys sans Tim Lambesis...

And that's about it, style wise this is mainstream rockish. I love AILD but this project is AILD Lite, if even that.

this goes more into the "Diet AILD" approach but the first album doesn't even touch that.
