trauma can be presented in a more artful way than Corn does it. Corn is kind of like a tantrum throwing baby while something like, for example, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, My Dying Bride, etc. do it gracefully and artfully.

hard to love a band whose only truly worthwhile album was their first. yeah the two or three after this were decent enough, but their debut is the only one that seems to stand the test of time

The Nothing is unironically my favorite Korn album, a perfect synthesis of everything they've done thus far

The middle part of Take Me is sweet, really wish they'd expand those bridges instead of the big choruses.

I'm am a Follow the Leader bandwagon Korn enjoyer, who started there in 8th grade and managed to get through to Untouchables before losing interest after I graduated high school. I couldn't say with confidence that I even listened to Take a Look in the Mirror. Interesting to think that if I had happened to have a kid right out of high school, he'd be able listen to this record as a 14-year old, just like I did.

That said, he wouldn't be impressed by this. I'm not; it's got too much gloss, production, and melody for a Korn record. Based upon the handful of singles I've heard over the years it's likely better than whatever else they've done in the last fifteen years. Great to hear them get some guitars back into the mix but I'm not sure Korn is what I'm looking for these days.

I think it's hard to write angsty, depressing music when you're a multimillionaire celebrity. Money solves a lot of problems.

Agreed. Also I just read the story behind the decision to name the band Korn and it's random as FK and a little NSFW.
