I don't understand why you are bashing their "obscure" lyrics of Dead Throne and 8:18 but you love generic zombie lyrics? "we are outnumbered" lmao.

If the 4 songs on Zombie EP were their 4 best songs then maybe, yea. But it's really not. It's a solid EP, just not sure why everybody considers that the holy grail of this band. That certainly seems to be the TURNING point of the band, I'll give you that. 'South of the City' is like a better version of anything they tried to do on that EP.

Well, the whole idea of Zombie is that you know, its about zombies n shit. So if we take that logic then it would make sense to write lyrics about zombies and the related themes yeah?
I found that Dark Throne and 8:18 were really when they were trying to be taken seriously and they kinda failed. Yeah, they had some good songs here and there but they just couldn't nail the songwriting.
The Space EP (I'm telling ya, more bands need to do EP's) and this are where they have begun to find their groove again.

I agree with Dream that Zombie is incredibly overrated. Yeah, it doesn't have any filler, but every song on there is average at best imo and the theme/lyrics are lame. I still think Plagues is there best and don't think they'll ever do better and I know that's an unpopular opinion here.

Woah, didn't realize this was the only album of theirs that I've rated. Time to sort some shit out.

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I really miss the cleans from the Plagues era.

"you're saying this isn't metalcore?"

Is it? I can't tell. I can't really tell anything about this album outside of it being rather joyless and uninteresting. Last track was probably the highlight since it it was about the only one I can remember that wasn't mid-paced and actually sounded like this band rofl.

I mean sure it's not the most original but saying it's not metalcore because it's not interesting is a pretty silly argument.

I've only heard one song ("Keys to the Evergreen"-which i Like a lot) from this but it sounded more like a mid 2000s skramz song with some like Appleseed Cast/Moving Mountains esqe guitar melodies in the middle. I don't know if I'm just crazy though but it didn't sound anything like Dear Love or any metalcore band I've heard.
