Shark Dad is so good. As for Will's raps, the only ones I think that sounded good was in Spooks, and Powder To The People, the rest I feel just kill momentum.

I like ALLB. But without Kurt, and the direction that they hinted at going with their next album, I doubt I'll enjoy their future releases

I thought they fit perfect in heat seeking ghost of sex tho I'm in the minority of people who really love that song I think

then he was good in privilously poncheezied

acceptance speech was a bad album so not worth talking about

I thought it was good in EvC, and chocolate jackalope I have mixed feelings about as a song altogether

Also Futures, is it just Tilian that you dislike?

tillian is the problem in my opinion yeah he doesn't fit the music. also mess's lyrics have become less funny and more horrendously cringy. songwriting has stagnated as well.

Mess is easily the worst thing about this album, I think Tillian sounds pretty good for the style this album is aiming for.

I don't know if I'd say that the songwriting has stagnated, more so that it feels a lot more safe. I miss their more experimental and crazy songwriting for sure. That's just my take on it tho. As for Mess I agree, his lyrics are getting old

they were at their best when it was just a revolving door of dudes floating around swan and mingus. you could argue no consistency but everything sounded fresh (and still good because of those two). they've been the same band the last 3 records and it feels like it's really starting to show

Very true, a rotating lineup really kept things fresh. However, I like the consistency as well, even though it does sound a little too safe staying in this same style for 3 albums in a row

Will's rapping was funny as fuck on Happiness and actually kind of good on DBMII but they've pounded the joke into the ground on the Tillian albums, as they have with most of their other good features

Will's rapping at the end of Powder To The People is one of my favorite moments on Happiness
