Great as this EP is, I can't help but feel disappointed when I compare it to the proggiest parts of Life Cycles and The Fall of Reason. I'm pretty much certain the remainder of the Concepts of Math series won't have any cool melodic interludes like that.

Are those the lyrics to this album or excerpts from a 2 hour lecture on Youtube that has 32 views?

Somehow never listened to this band so I'm gonna jam this at work on Monday.

You'd probably dig it a lot. I don't like the vocals or lyrics, but the instrumentation is really fun tech thrash with some noticeable Meshuggah-ness.

This just arrived! Very nice!
Just a little info about what this EP is...
WatchTower has been working on a full length album entitled 'Mathematics' since 1990. Here's the track listing...
1. M-Theory Overture
2. Arguments Against Design
3. Technology Inaction
4. Hypercubic
5. Eloquent Soliloquy
6. Mathematica Calculis
7. Answers In Infrared
8. The Size Of Matter
9. Infinity Minus One
10. Can We Escape?
11. Summarization
This 'Concepts Of Math: Book One' EP contains 5 of these songs (tracks 1, 2, 3, 6 and 8), so there are 6 songs to be completed and released. It is not a coincidence that the first letter of the songs spells MATHEMATICS. The writing of the album was completed in 2010.
Will these other 6 songs ever be recorded and released? Who knows...

I don't get the point of releasing the album as EPs, but w.e. Sounds more dramatic and nerdy as Book 1 and Book 2, I guess. :3

They're old with families and jobs. It probably takes a lot to get the free time to record anything. They're definitely not living off their music.

This first EP was certainly worth the long wait, and I'm willing to wait as long as necessary for a quality sequel.

Miss the crazy vocals but still excellent stuff. The year they release Mathematics they'll have a strong metal aoty contender in their hands
