if i ever write another review it will probably be for something obscure that won't otherwise get a review; don't feel the need otherwise

just briefly considered an exception for my favorite band

Seventh Sojourn sounds so jazzy and middle eastern inspired, has a unique atmosphere I've never really heard from Opeth thus far.

review restores some of the hope I had for this, which is good because I just pre-ordered the deluxe edition and was starting to have second thoughts

Good question

Don't have second thoughts Hellscythe, anyone who's ok with where the band's been heading lately should enjoy this.

Mikael knows how to write good prog rock. Heritage is the biggest example. Despite how incohesive and random the album was at places, it was undoubtedly Opeth.
