not really, it's a shit song

I honestly just want them to be a poppy alt-metal band. They have shiny production and an ear for pretty melodies and some prog sections here and there, but they ruin it with those god-awful djent breakdowns which are there just because they're expected to be there.

Why does it have to be more than that? Watching interviews with the band, that seems to be their only goal, just to have fun. Misha has stated multiple times he's not bothered about Periphery being the most original band ever, or being the most artistic band out there. They just make music they like and if people dig it then cool.



It's honestly quite a selfish thing but that's what being a true artist is. They have integrity, whether you like them or not that's something you can't deny.

I feel like a lot of people misunderstand Periphery. They're a fun band that write the stuff they want to hear who don't take themselves seriously at all (they've said a few times that they know the album titles are stupid and the songs are all references to shows and games). I guess the main thing is that they clearly have the musicianship and skill to do the whole serious BTBAM style prog/tech metal thing, but Misha's said a few times that he finds the old stuff boring.

I'm suprised at all the "boring" comments and hate, I just don't get what is so dislikable. Also totally cannot hear similarities to A/O with this one, felt really fresh after a quite a few spins on the last. Different chord structures, inclusion of alot of Moog, heavy cinematic and orchestral qualities. Great review, however I disagree with it.
