you won't be able to unhear these albums if you jam them all. When all is quiet the sound of your nervous system and blood in your ears will coalesce into an ever-present DJUH DA DJUH DJUH DUN NUN NUN NUNN whispering in your ears.

part my brain wants to like it... the simple, crude, animalistic side of my brain. my higher self finds this.... tilapia-of-the-metal-world... damn near unbearable, so i might leave that sitting with epilepsy or something.

Meshuggah added atmospheric guitar lines to fill up space and make the blunt djunty guitar rhythms seem less dead; all these djent bands sort of just use riffs like clubs to beat you with no nuance and it's not as interesting.

i like how just sparingly using some electronic elements is considered "experimental" for this band/genre

What is this opinion even? Opinions like that make it seem like the closest you've come to listening to Periphery is reading KILL's review of PII.

I don't think I would call Periphery's sound experimental by any means, but I think that Spencer gives them a lot more versatility compared to their contemporaries.

Yeah, Spencer's voice bugs me quite a bit actually. I'd much prefer to jam Veil Of Maya over this tbh, not that thats saying much.
