Self Destructor fucking SLAPS, holy shit. These guys and Deftones are so consistent. And I’m glad to read Pete saying this record is more melodic (got HOTTB vibes). I like North Corridor but fine it to be one of their worst because it’s fairly one dimensional imo.

I'm fine with more melodic, but please not another Hats Off.

I wish trios wouldn't give up in finding a third member. Placebo is now a duo and chevelle seems to be another one as well. I hate the fact that it's someone missing in the equation.

Hats Off is underrated.

Self Destructor is slowly becoming one of my all time favorite Chevelle songs... only thing holding it back in my opinion is the somewhat whiny vocal delivery at times

"I'm fine with more melodic, but please not another Hats Off."
Hats Off had some of Chevelle's best songs (Envy and Meddler) but yeah as a whole it wasn't great

more than "melodic" or 'intense" I just want another Chevelle album with dynamic range. Feels like lately they swing back and forth from "this is a heavy album" to "this is a melodic one" and forget what made their early run great was their ability to do both

I really dig their newest single "Remember When" almost as much as "Self Destructor". March can't come soon enough.

out of the albums i've heard thus far (this, Vena Sera, Wonder What's Next), this is probably the one that has been the least immediate. the cuts that rip are excellent ("Rivers", "Last Days" "Got Burned" and "Shot From a Cannon" to some extent) but there feels like something missing from a lot of these songs, for this being the band's "heaviest album". a lack of punchiness in the production, maybe?

New album has some excellent material on it. So Long, Mother Earth is one of the best songs they've ever written and Endlessly is cinematic and beautiful (if not a bit overproduced). Unfortunately, the album is really only 8 full-length songs given five (!!!) tracks are instrumentals or interludes. A bit disappointing in my opinion.

Pete actually talked recently about how this was the hardest time he'd ever had writing music and that this was pretty much all they could throw at it in five years' time. Didn't make much sense at the time with 13 total songs, but now it kinda does if 5 of them are interludes.

Ha, enjoying the album quite a bit but just saying was a bit disappointed upon learning that so many of the new tracks are instrumentals or interludes. Some cool ideas in those instrumental tracks nonetheless.

test test enough may be an interlude but i was fully on board with it that shit ruled
album definitely is experimental for them. def need time for it to settle in and i especially need to adjust to petes voice now his delivery on these songs are weird to me but more listens will hopefully fix that. musically i was really impressed tho they really pushed themselves here
