That hook in Vantablack, the one at :58 starts off sounding like something from a popular 70s/80s song. Forget the name of the song though, just know it's sung by a girl.

the sequencing of this album is perfect. the heavy stuff is so much more powerful because there's not an overwhelming ton of it, it hits hard exactly when it needs to

Drift and Phoenix III hands down my favorites so far. Really digging that this album doesn't drag on as long as Lift Your Existence does.

Gave this 2 full listens so far and it's damn good. Nice to hear something a little refreshing to this genre. Much better than LYE and I gave that a 4, but not sure if this is 4.5 worthy. Might be if it keeps slaying this hard after more listens.

Great review. I hit the positive. I definitely have to check this out though. Their last album came off kind of bland to me save for a few songs like Rage and Time Erases Time.

Drift is so bad that it makes me angry. Never should've made it onto the album. The rest of this is pretty tight. Not sure I like any song here as much as the best off of LYE, though. Rage and Antidepressants will probably remain my favorite songs of theirs.

Haha yeah Drift is pretty basic and repetetive. I see it as a more interlude type song and then it seems alright to just jam out to that groovy little bass line.
