My biggest problem is that most of the choruses on here sound exactly the same, what makes it even worse is that they seem to constantly rely on them as hooks.

I think the first two songs do that a lot and they don't need to. I'm still not huge on the choruses of One Car Garage and Hurt, I think those parts sound like what they were trying to get away from.

This album really picks up after the first few tracks, the closer is such a banger

Definitely, first song is my least favorite probably. Everything about OCG is perfect except the chorus, still a great track tho

Listening to this and trying to understand the hype. I just feel like this band has so much potential to write exciting music and doesn't. You have tracks like People Like Me, We Just Don't Play and they totally jam but it seems like the tracks on here are anticlimactic. Maybe it'll start to pick up but i'm on track 4 and am getting put to sleep.

Definitely picks up in the second half.

first listen sounds really good - and much better than versus (which i hated!)
They sound determined and it sounds like Emarosa has found themselfes with this album.
But i dont like Bradley Walden's Vocals. I mean he is a good singer but he is not as exceptional as jonny is and he always sounds a bit kitschy.
I always consider how the new emarosa sound would be with jonnys soulful voice - than maybe it would be one of my favorite Post-Hardcore releases these days.

Album cover is great
I could never get into these guys though; I suppose they're alright

They just don't do anything interesting with their music. It's pretty much by-the-numbers post-hardcore pop rock that people really seem to like for some reason.
