Good review dude, many solid points about what makes a good melodeath album. Vocals are still the weakest part of this band, but the music is very enjoyable. Only four songs in. The intro song "Luma" sounds incomplete to me and the fadeout is awkward after the song fails to go anywhere or establish any real mood for the album. "An Ember's Arc" is very good, the build up to the blasting section is perfect, and the dissonant jangly section is a nice touch. "Withering Strands" is just beautiful. Pretty excited about giving this album some more time.

So ready for this.

Doubt it's better then Stone's Reach but if it's close I'm happy.

After couple of listens, I am really liking grasping light and the last song. I think it lacks something though, comparing it to stone's reach (Scythe to Scepter, Countless Skies).

Withering Strands is soooo good. Still getting a feel for most of the other tracks, aside from the singles, which I also love. But the album seems pretty great overall.

Been jamming this for several hours on repeat. Definitely their weakest album in my opinion. None of the riffs are really very memorable, and Melodeath is all about riffs imo. Their previous 3 efforts all have riffs for days.

That being said, it's still good.

IMO this is the least riffy, most atmospheric record they've ever written. It still has its moments for sure, but compared to the riff fest that was Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone, this falls short.

The song writing is pretty amazing and interesting throughout, so the appeal of this record depends on what you're looking for in an album. As of right now, I personally believe this is the band's strongest record, but I still need more time to let it all sink in.
