Haha I hope I didn't come out as harsh. I wish I could explain how exactly he is influential but I am terrible at describing such stuff.
One example I can give is what I got from AK's book Scar Tissue in the part how JF helped bring the song to life from just a scribbled down poem. They pretty much wrote the song together with JF with a massive input. Also just listen to how lost AK sounds in OHM compared to BSSM(I love the album btw). I know it is a poor description but I think it gives a good idea on how a guitarist contributes more than just riffs.
