Man Stay With Me is amazing as well. This doesn't disappoint at all.

Opposite for me. Not a ton of deviation towards phenomenal or awful, just a whole lotta good/solid. That might change in repeated listens of course.

I second that Stay With Me is amazing, the guitar melody is so good in that song and in The Long Defeat. Musically this album is tremendous, I just have problems with the lyrics, vocal melodies, and choruses.

he sounds rather smooth on the last track though. at least while in falsetto. maybe he has damaged his voice, but either way it's for the better sonically imo. Kind of how Chris Cornell sounded better after huffing too mucho cigarettes.

i really dont think hes damaged his voice people. people age and their voices change. see every vocalist ever. listen to his live solo cover album.

Much like their last 2 records for me - insanely listenable but not outstanding upon my first 2 or 3 listens. But then it's all I think about and I kind of can't wait to go jam it after work again. Beggars and Major/Minor are both top notch for me and I see this falling into the same category in the near future

not counting the closer, this is basically major/minor but more "meatheaded" as a few people have described

stay with me is also beyond cheesy and blood on the sand is straight up not good

This is so much more dynamic than M/M (ironically)

agree this is kinda a meatheaded M/M but a lot of the instrumentation seriously reminds me of the Fire ep

This feels like a combo of Vheissu and M/M to me it's sweet. Stay With Me and The Long Defeat are sooooo good. Agreed Blood On The Sand though it's not good.

I get more of a Fire vibe from this than anything.

More and more impressed by this on each listen - I went in with low expectations, only really dug about half of it at first, but now the whole thing is a jam one way or another.

Thank you ash yes I get such a Fire vibe from this musically. Yeah I am very close to bumping this to a 4 now

i don't see much vheissu here other than the loud production, album seriously lacks dynamics in most songs. i'd liken it to major/minor with some of the ideas from the alchemy indexes mixed in, especially fire mixed with a bit of air and a whole lot of water on the last song. definitely not bad on the whole but pretty damn mediocre

"I am very close to bumping this to a 4 now" - same here

btw Easter, you might want to change Wind in the second to last paragraph to Air cause that's what that disc is actually called. Minor gripe though.
