So I finally sat down and really listened to the album and I would say the first two tracks are killer and got me excited for the rest of the record but after that, the album just descends into mediocrity and sounds like a collection of b-sides. The closer was pretty cool too and I liked that they actually gave the song a lot of room to breath. So three great tracks and the rest is just the same shit they've been pumping out for years now.

Great review.
Lost Forever was their first album I enjoyed, but I just couldn't get into it somehow. After giving this a couple of listens, I'm starting to like it more and more. Surely, it's nothing extraordinary, but it sounds like an upgraded, more consistent version of LF // LT to me. I'm currently enjoying the hell out of The Empty Hourglass. My rating will likely change, but I honestly don't know if it will go up or down.

Saw these guys open for Protest the Hero in 2013 (I think). Never heard of them before that but they were great live.
In comparison to their live show, they're completely uninteresting on their records. Might be good music to listen to in the gym.

review mimics my thoughts exactly. weird how pretty much all their albums have killer openers then it gets really boring and samey after that (for their past couple albums at least)

nihilist and deathwish are great, it just kind of drops off into meh until Gravity and All Love is Lost which is an interesting song if nothing else
good review

This sounds exactly like their last album and most of the songs just kinda sound the same and flow together. It has some great moments, but I can't see myself revisiting this anytime soon.

I like how listeners are put into literally two categories
1. It's the same as the last album but who cares it's still good
2. It's the same as the last album who tf wants a repeat

What about "it's the same as the last 4 and they were all shit "

The album art does look like that one Linkin Park album cover tbh

ha agreed. My first thought was that it looks like ATS. But sound wise? This still has their ususal heavy sound, they've hardly gone soft.

"What about "it's the same as the last 4 and they were all shit"
Last two maybe but this doesn't sound like The Here and Now.
Honestly tho this is the worst out of their past 3 imo. Hell I went to recheck Daybreaker and Alpha Omega killed everything on this
