Serein is such a massive hit, but I can't stand Decima.

Decima is worst for me. One of the few reasons for me not 5ing this yet

It's a sweet track. Has somebody figured out the time signature yet?

Intro just sounds like 2/4 with intentionally bizarre phrasing and syncopation. Flow over anything else. I could be wrong but the kit bars and vocal bars swap and change starting points numerous times.

I'll take that as a no.

I did it for the intro, some pages ago. It's 4 times 11/4, then one 10/4 (broken down to one time 6/4 and one time 4/4 - that one 4/4 starts exactly when he sings "sky"), then it continues with 11/4.

Takeover, Serein, Serac, Last Song Before the Fade, Shifts, The Night Subscriber
Faves in tracklist order, can't really pick less than those without having regrets. Still Serein might be my favorite of all, the chorus climax is just too good to be true, career highlight

Almost agree, but what's wrong with Old Heart Falls? Great riff and chorus at least.

Hope y'all are listening to the DVD cause the CD kinda blows, while the DVD is like the best sounding metal record of 2016

The CD+DVD edition I bought came with a DVD with 5.1 audio. It's not the first time for Katatonia to make this bundles, but it is the first time where I feel the DVD is such a dramatic improvement over the standard CD (and vinyl, because I heard it's basically the same thing). There is much more room to breathe and everything comes alive, especially the rhythm section. Jonas' vocals also sound clearer and defined.
If we want to resort to numbers, my CD rip has a dynamic range of 7 (best is 10 on Pale Flag), while the DVD rip has 12 with the best being 15 on Pale Flag. Most tracks have almost doubled on the dynamics, with Hold Heart Falls going from 6 to 12 for example. Takeover similarly went from 6 to 11
