Waking up
Everyday is all about doing things you don't want to do
But you're rewarded
You get to wake up

For whatever reason I was rather dismissive of this when it came out. Which, in retrospect, was a huge mistake, this thing's great, and I like it a fair bit more than their previous releases.

I'm not huge on 'Hiding', but otherwise the first half of this is so impressive for this band; I wasn't a big fan of them prior to The Perfect Cast, but I'm liking this one heaps.

Just read the review and that was the reason I brought it up. When I first listened to this, "Hiding" was a favourite of mine, but listening to it now, I'm finding it boring - I'm not even too sure, just might not be in the mood for it. To be honest, I find the transition between the introduction and "Wedding Singer" a bit grating as well. As for Brendan's side, "Apple Cider, I Don't Mind" is a favourite of mine and I love his... drawl, I guess. Closer's great, too. I find his vocal performance a bit more compelling for that reason.
Good review, too, Connor. Your writing's solid. You seem to be putting in a lot of effort into the whole reviewing thing, so keep up the great work.

thanks Blushful I appreciate it! I have been as of recently but finding stuff to review has been the issue lately. I have a few reviews semi-started though so hopefully I will be able to crank one out soon

I understand, that Marietta looks interesting as hell, going to check it out soon. Just going to have to wait till inspiration hits, I guess. Are you most comfortable reviewing "emo revival" material, or is that just the kind of thing you find yourself listening to most often?
Just listened to "Hiding" again. I retract whatever statement I made before, it's neat.
