Yeah all the stuff I have at 4.5 and 5 is stuff I can literally just listen to whenever as many times as I can in a day and never get sick of it.



And this is getting a lot of attention considering, maybe it'll light a fire under the ass of modern thrash bands.

a lot of these newer bands are completely content though to just wallow in the mediocrity of recycled riffs, too-clean-for-thrash production and beer lyrics



and a lot of their fans are completely content to lap it up as well



so i don't know that it would matter either way

That's a shame. I'm into bm mostly, especially the post, prog and ambient oriented stuff. I feel like there's a good amount of innovation and original takes happening there, though of course not all of it it good.



Could be worse. Thrash could be stagnant and also missing Vektor.

what's wrong about trying new genres

Generally if it's a genre I like but I don't like the album I rate low. If it's a genre I don't like and an album I don't like, I don't rate.

Didn't care for this overmuch but I've never cared for thrash period and I don't want to rain on everyone's 4.5 parade.

i rate things outside of the genres i mainly check cuz i feel it helps me get into those same genres, while develop my own perspective of it. i constantly change my old ratings too so idk
