I feel like this does a really good job at combining elements from both of his LPs while still being its own thing. Listening now and the track I'm on now, Choose Me, is one of the most powerful things he has ever written.

It may take a while to fully appreciate it more than Overgrown, but this is his most accomplished work to date. I'll wait for it to digest before I give it a rating.

I hated this dude's 'arty free form' debut - please tell me he's kept progressing in a similar direction to 'Overgrown'

This is very good so far, his songwriting chops are finally catching up to his lofty ambitions and experimental soundscapes.

Timeless is insane
Modern Soul makes me want to lay down and die
definitely lived up to the hype

But Overgrown (edit: I'm a retard I meant Retrograde) is still my favorite song of his after giving this a spin.

Forest Fire and timeless are really, really good though.

I love Overgrown but i feel like this is way more brave more styles of singing , experimental ideas etc especially in harmony , Overgrown kind of had a style and stuck with it

Forever and Waves Know Shores are two of my favorite songs on this record - it seems like he's becoming more comfortable with his songwriting and voice. They're very simple, but still retain his "sound" without masking it behind vocal processing and overdone synths.

Not sure how much more popular he can get, given this isn't ever going to be mainstream music, but I hope he gets some recognition for this album.
