it was a valid criticism though. sometimes Arcade puts more effort into the psychological/social elements of an album and forgets to touch on the objective musicality of it, and cater to the type of ppl that actually listen to the album in question

and while i understand reviews are both a highly personal thing and open to being crafted in a number of different styles, i cant help but find reviews that dont touch on the music itself enough to be redundant

that's just my opinion. i can't be bothered spending time reviewing myself so i can't judge too hard but that's my thoughts. it only annoys me at all because the people that are somehow chosen to be contribs or whatever on this site end up being the main review by default that represent the site, as opposed to the review chosen objectively by voting. takes away from the site's legitimacy.

1, 10, 12, 13, 16 are the best songs. Everything else is some of the most underwhelming stuff he's ever put out.

I'll basically just remember this as the album that gave us Too Good.

There's a pretty good 10-12 song album in here somewhere

Seems like Drake loves himself enough to think all his songs are good enough to be on an album

after another listen, it's even worse than my first impression.

his lyrics have always been subpar at best, but he at least has supplanted them with some bangin' beats.

every song on this album sounds the same. you could sequence these tracks in any order and nobody would notice.

Drake markets himself as a rapper above all else. he doesn't present himself as a pop star, even though that's essentially what he is. he's a blend between the two, always has been. I'm sure you know this already.

what is your point, exactly?

so, if it's not a hip-hop album, he gets a free pass for atrocious lyrics?

we're talking about this album specifically not what drake markets himself as. this is not a lyrical hip hop album plain and simple
