Man this album
|
| |
I feel like this band is always on the cusp of making something great but never quite getting there
|
| |
Tried so hard to get into this band, but I simply cannot take this dude's vocals seriously. He sounds like an oversteaming tea kettle.
|
| |
It's a bit of masochism Jay, torture yourself long enough and you actually start to like them lol
|
| |
I must say the vocals definitely add an extra layer to the harrowing, hopeless sounds presented by the two. Maybe I'm just not enough of a misanthrope to appreciate em yet. One of these days Dewi ;]

This album in particular was my entry to them but I wouldn't recommend it as a first contact.
Give "I Have Fought Against it..." a listen, it features Lingua Ignota and other artists on vocals and it is way more accesible in my opinion, because there's a contrast between Chip's shrieks and the rest.

what Dewi said tenfold *about I Have Fought Against It*. imo his vocals are laughable and kinda shitty, but I fucking love em and think they add something to the music that elevates it from a good band to an, at least, interesting band. however I also fuck heavy with bands that have the same vocal style so I have that bias
maybe try and take them not so seriously? for instance, I can't but think of this goat when I listen to The Body: https://youtu.be/1PXCBpVs3k4
also their Splits with Thou and Full of Hell are relatively accessible too

Just a friendly reminder that no one deserves happiness

true
Actually really enjoyed the Full of Hell splits. I have fought against it... Eh, not so much. Loved the Lingua Ignota feature though.
