59 Sound and Elsie are pretty much perfect. Still not sure what to make of it, feel it's just maybe too straightforward and too many songs feel the same.

elsie is my favourite thing of what he's done

never really dug TGA apart from the odd classic tune (59 sound, we did it when we were young) and Handwritten

Maybe I have to listen to it more, but I just thought this was okay. Nothing really grabbed me like the earlier Gaslight stuff. I know it's meant to be different, but I didn't find it all too compelling.

I personally think this is in the top 3 things he's done (along with the '59 sounds and Elsie). of course, that could change with time though

Elsie > 59' Sound > Sink or Swim > SeƱor and the queen > American slang > this = handwritten > get hurt

Not my favourite release by Brian by a long shot but still some really great songs on here, just unfortunately a couple real duds too.

So this is one of those albums that I listened to at first, and I enjoyed it but I was driving and just nodding along to the music. Just listened to this again last night with a glass of scotch and damn does Brian bring the fire with his lyrics. Took a second listen but damn this is a fine record. More subtle and subdued but Brians, voice, vocal melodies and lyrics more than makeup for the relaxed musical arrangements.

Am I alone in having Rosemary as one of my top songs of 2016 so far? It's just a perfect rock song.

Check it out. Definitely worthwhile if you're a fan of any of his stuff.
