it's alright

I have listened to that prereleased track and didn't think too much of it. It was all over the place
|
| |
That track has a very straight-forward pop song structure so I don't see how it's all over the place. I'm not being sarcastic either.
Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Bridge - Chorus.

Not in terms of structure. But like when the violins come in, when the singing goes back in again etc. Felt very forced, without the natural focus I remember from Enjoy Eternal Bliss.
I'll have to listen to the whole record ofc

I also remember how they seemed so dense to me when I first heard them. It could be that my hearing to discern sounds has improved, however here I miss that

This is exceptional, I hear quite a bit of Mono and Explosions influence in here. Certainly not seminal like EEB, but it packs quite a punch in the crescendos.

first track is the best and probably the only one I can listen to all the way without any annoyances

Nothing about this was annoying to me. It's still Yndi Halda and an atmosphere to get lost in. The climaxes are spectacular, but they take a little more time getting their than I'd like. Don't know how I feel about the vocals either, but I'm glad they're trying something new. Gonna let this big guy sink in.

I like the vocals and the climaxes (especially the 2nd and last track) but everything else about this album is shockingly average to me through the first few listens

i feel like the vocal bit in the middle of the first track is the best bit from the whole album. I think the issue for was that it just meandered and the climaxes were pretty meh for the most part

I thought the climaxes were the best parts

a lot of this is so beautiful and well done
but on the whole, I wish they would have just thrown in some generic post rock climaxes...but the way they did it on enjoy eternal
|
| |
This has loads of climaxes.
|
| |
first song is really great for a few minutes and then there's like a 5 minute pause and then gradual build to the end. all the songs have that typical mid-song intermission post-rock trope

Nothings like painfully boring about those intermissions though. I do wish they'd do something more eventful but that's clearly not the album they tried to make. Everything else makes up for it.
