@Hippocrene: True Romance was pretty damn decent, though I would say i'm more of a casual fan of the synthpop types.... Eh, don't listen to what I say...
|
| |
well i didn't expect you to like it doof, don't know why you'd even want to listen to this in the first place

Maybe I think it's bad.

Tempest- Review made it sound like a car crash so couldn't resist
Also I do adhere to the 'know your enemy' school of listening, it's healthy to hear something you don't like, avoidance can eventually lead to ignorance
Otherwise you're saying something along the lines of 'I don't like contemporary pop and never will so will never listen to any of it ever again' - always room for a surprise. This isn't it though

don't a lot of ppl treat PC music and bubblegum bass interchangeably (regardless of any affiliation with AG Cook's label)

eh sometimes that's the case, but when that Iglooghost EP came out last year that was bubblegum bass to the max, didn't hear many people comparing it to PC Music.

Sput genre obsession in full force
|
| |
it's not an obsession, it's a legit niche that describes a distinct sound
|
| |
yeah. you could spend a paragraph trying to describe the sound, or you could use a convenient, two-word descriptor.

also pc music is a legit pidgeonhole because it's a label with a very distinctive sound. kind of like describing something as similar to Burial or Brainfeeder
|
| |
actually im okay with it now that sputnik only has tags like electronic and pop e.g.
totally sufficient
|
| |
could you spend a paragraph describing the sound because i dont know what pc music is

tbh I really don't listen to much of it so maybe Shitsofrain or Brostep could explain it
in a nutshell, bubblegum bass is the extremes of pop music but in the form of uk bass and some wonky elements and a bunch of other styles in the mix. there's just a distinct sound it has

I don't even know how to explain Post-Hardcore anymore
