This is either getting really good ratings or being highly trashed.

I don't think this is a terrible album, but I don't think it's nearly as good as The Heist. That said, I imagine it depends on the individual; I find a lot of this gratingly annoying, I could see someone else finding it quite fun.
Also, I dislike White Privilege II within the context of the album. On its own, I think it's a cool song. And I can't imagine giving this a 1, a lot of the production and a couple of the songs save it for me.

Conscious hip hop really irritates me for some reason.

conscious hip hop is great but mackelmore is like a philosophy 101 student wearing a tweed jacket acting like he's the professor

I like some of Common's stuff, but that's about it.

"Being the musical face of Seattle, the successes the duo acquired after their critically-acclaimed "The Heist", the millions of copies sold from their numerous Top-10 singles off the album, but only to criticize themselves and that success with it, delivering a vintage, yet mainstream boomer with "Downtown" and then frying it all in the fryer with an alarming, yet insightful eye-opener with "White Privilege II"." I'm unsure whether this sentence is incorrect - the "but" doesn't refute/backtrack a clear statement, and rather a few fragments - or it's just a bit too convoluted. Sometimes in the review there tends to be a lot of small clauses placed in commas in sentences that tend to run on a bit. Which isn't wrong, by any means, but I think it could be cleaned up if some of the sentence structures were altered a bit to include extra information before the main point, or within parenthesis or neater, simpler grammar.
Also, there are a couple of typos, I think. But otherwise this was a cool review; I think I agree for the most part, though I'm not as familiar/confident as you about the context of the album. Good write up. Well done.

Sorry. But no.
I generally think Macklemore get's more hate than he deserves and I do enjoy "Downtown" a bit, even though it's a hot mess of a song. But seriously fuck that "White Privilege II" song so hard.

It isn't featured because we want Mackleless.

White Privilege II is one of the worst pieces of shit I've ever heard.

I'm really getting sick of lazy motherfuckers reviewing an album but not throwing a tracklist up for it. It should be required before you can review it.
|
| |
So the lead single is a re-imagining of some pop song that came out two years ago?
Like ripping off pop music from 30 years ago is one thing, but now they're ripping off shit that barely came out, y

Ayeeee I ain't lazy on this someone should've done the track list when it was released, doesn't have to be my job. This isn't featured well it's okay with me, I mean it is not a bad album entirely but it isn't close to great either.
