did he actually reference pollack in his review? if so I feel like it's probably going to be referenced in others as well independently - same idea of "coherent mess" and w/e that pollack did so well

Great review. Disagree completely but still.

the songs generally feel too short for how much he jumps between styles. you don't get to fully experience anything, that makes the album feel superficial. it also lacks transitions to connect the tracks and make it one

imo

still good stuff, the variety is very enjoyable

My review is in progress - only problem is I haven't listened to the new album yet lol. I have now listened to every other Kanye album in the last three days...sheesh

i'm already sick of reading stuff about kanye's recent social media presence and i don't think it's that relevant to the album itself, but after that first paragraph the rest of the review is great.

pretty much agree, has loads of great ideas manifested in songs like Ultralight Beam, Famous, Waves, FML, No More Parties, Real Friends. The rest of the tracks aren't bad either but they mostly seem either incomplete, out of place or both.

I like the album but an opportunity for somethin special seems missed by not refining it to the standard of College Dropout/Late Registration imo.

"if yall find any formatting fuckups please let me know..." beginning of second paragraph, only time you abbreviate the album name. choose one or the other, i say. sweet review, i'm a couple songs in and it's sounding pretty good to me so far

I wish this was a better than a 3.5 / 5.0, but to me it really isn't. The flow of the album could be much better. Most of the songs are pretty solid, though.

7/10 album, 9/10 mixtape

So a 4 makes sense to me.

That's actually a good way of looking at it. I just can't give it any higher than a 3.5. I would like to, though.
