the long ambient track was real nice, but they aren't what I remember the album for. their previous keyboardist was so good.

Like Johnny said, the rating is justified too, you don't need to list a bunch of negatives to justify a 3.5 rating. In the opening paragraph, he even explicitly states how un-groundbreaking this is.
johnny didn't really say that but even then it all feels vacant to me.
I feel the final draft will be good though.

Agreed. The keys were what made their first 3 albums really special. Dualism was great too, but the atmosphere wasn't as magical.

alright, just finished beefing up the descriptions a bit. lemme know if there's still anything that sticks out.

much better review dude, some awkward phrasings here and there but nonetheless
album sounds like their best, not as fun but well-crafted and produced. broks is immense with that cymbal work.

The single didn't really interest me all that much but I may give this a a spin. Nice write-up.

Amazing album, not as good as past works but I think I like this more than Dualism. Production is great and it makes the vocalist sound a lot better

this was more Dualism Pt 2 than the Polars Pt 2 that I've been waiting for all these years, i like this band but i thought they would switch it up a bit more after 5 years

they got better after 5 years, definitely more aggressive than dualism

cleans really are grating and annoying but at least everything else sounds pretty nice.

Nah his cleans are pretty dope most of the time

He sounds a lot better here than on Dualism, still a shame he doesn't sound like he did in CiLiCie here...

that's exactly the problem with the vox, he showed us his power and range before and now it's not as good

Album Rating: 4.0 | Sound Off
True, but I think he sounds great here, the production as a whole makes this album a lot better than Dualism... I love the experimentation of Zman and Meander, a shame the latter isn't named in the review

Very boring album. Quality went downhill fast after Silhouettes, which is a freaking amazing album

I'd say this is on par with Silhouettes. Silhouettes has some of their best songs but it was all of the same-y. Their style of Metal imho gets stale pretty fast and it's quite tiresome to listen to their previous discs without getting bored (Polars in particular, eh).
This though has enough variety to keep me going. Give it a few more spins bloc

Tight as hell, some amazing songs in this one.
I'd love to hear Daniel singing the Polars album, that would be a truly epic remake of a remarkable record.

Illuminate the Trail had some promise too when the drums mid song started kicking in. Then the rest of the song just stayed basic which disappointed me.
Overall there are some good things going on here. I do enjoy the first half more than the 2nd half tho.

The cleans were struggling a bit on the first track, I'll go listen to Silhouettes instead
