My favorite track on the album. Either that or the title track.

Honestly, sort of disappointed with this one. I think this had some heavy potential of being better than it is, especially with the quality of instrumentation in the 2nd track. Still, it's Matt Elliott and it's still a great album.

Completely agreed. I think that - like the review says - it's a necessary musical step that Matt Elliott would take sooner or later, but some tracks could use some variety and some development, indeed (like Wings & Crown or The Feast of St. Stephen). Also, it's quite a homogenic record in terms of sound. Matt's quite on the comfort zone with this record.

no disappointment here, but that could be because I've never heard anything else by this guy. lyrics are pretty great too

I've heard most of his stuff and I actually found this quite refreshing and not disappointing at all.

Congratulations on making staff! . . . I finally listened to this album, and I really like it. For me, it’s about the resonance between his vocals and the cello (at least I think it’s a cello). I love how they slowly dance across the album together. Also, the double-tracking of his vocals on “The Feast of St. Stephen” and “Wings & Crown “ is gorgeous. I love the way a slightly different version whispers into each ear. The guy can produce an album.

That's the only thing I'd say Ed, if this was just the extended intro/1st track and the t/t as an EP I'd be happy enough finishing there.

The rest isn't at all bad it's just that by the end of the t/t I'm satisfied
