Great rev, hope I enjoy this more than you because this "heavy tribal-esque percussion and raucous Satanic chants make appearances throughout" sounds appealing to me.

Thanks Scuro :] That would usually be a selling point for me as well, but they weren't done very tactfully in my opinion and it's kind of tiresome to hear a whole albums worth of them.

Will probably see them live again this year. Hope they won't play many songs off this

It's funny how you think it tries to be a cvlt satanic album, though that's not the case. ''Tou Thanatou'' is a song that condemns death, ''Apage Satana'' means ''Begone Satan'' and Elthe Kyrie is more of a prayer for empowerment, rather than a Satanic ritual (it actually features lyrics from an ancient Greek tragedy).

The album is noteworthy and even if it's lower than their previous album, it's definitely worth your time. Ze Nigmar is superb, Apage Satana is excellent and I do like its ritualistic nature and rythmic sound, while Les Litanies... is beyond words. I think it's more of a 3.7 album. Definitely a solid 3.5.

I think we overanalyze it. Yes, it's not what we expected. In that view, it's bad. But what is it? It's a compilation of ritualistic style songs, that are quite dark and enjoyable to listen, with some beautifully written music. Thus, I like.

@Hawks

A Dead Poem is one of my favorite RC albums. Very entertaining.

well, yes, I'm not an expert and if you could mailbox me something you think is truly magnifiscent, I'd be more than glad to listen to it.

As for this record, it just clicks. I don't have to make myself like it, I like it, from start to finish.

That summary, pure venom right there.

Good review, I had a feeling this would be a dud.

Some of the songs were catchy and entertaining but overall OvDeath is right. It's almost like they confused simplicity for ritualism and made these bland songs that just plod along and nothing really happens.
