These guys are more or less something like TesseracT/Skyharbor meets Scale the Summit to me.

@Toondude yeah that makes sense as well, they're like Tesseract/Skyharbor + Dream Theater/Haken without the wankyness...

My initial reaction was the same, Titan. Too much fuss for nothing. But it needs another spin. Usually, I don't judge before I know by heart most of the songs, or don't remember a specific part. After that, I'm sure I know what the album's about.

More than enough I guess. It depends on you attention, though. But, no, I think it's enough.

wasn't that big of a fan on first listen as well, but after more listens you really start to enjoy this one... Atleast, I did, a friend of mine thinks they sucks but his favourite band is Three Days Grace so what can I even say

This never really said "Dream Theater" to me.

Yes, indeed. This says more Epica to me (i.e. Mob Mentality's orchestral parts) than it says DT.

Never listened to Epica, but I basically compare every progressive metal band with DT... It sounds reasonable to me that if you enjoy DT you would enjoy this, doesn't it?

eeehhhh, these guys are more or less cleaner that most DT if you ask me.

This never said "Epica" to me either actually. This is more on the lines of Karnivool and Scale the Summit for me.

Yeah, they're not like Epica, they just have some parts in that one song that I could compare to Epica. And their scale choices and chord progressions are not that far apart, is what I'm saying. More classical sound, than the aggressive experimental ones we hear today. Not that this isn't experimental, but you get what I'm saying.

Scale the Summit could be a good comparison, indeed.

I feel like when it comes to the instrumentals, that's what STS's new album should've been.

yeah, it was a bit of a disappointment. The Migration was superb, while V was a bit... I dunno, more dull. I gave it a 3.5 rating as I recall, but I can't remember anything specific.

Agreed. This is easily one of my favorite albums at the moment. And they're apparently writing and recording again!
