...And Justice for Jason is undoubtedly the best way to listen to this record.

this should have been much better, when this came out I was a preteen in love with the band, then I got to listen to this, it is like they took a shit on my "metal up your ass" shirt, anyway in retrospect, the progressive feel is decent, not inventive.

The prog feel in this isn't even that in-your-face. It's progressive yah but it's not Dream Theater or Tool. It's still pretty thrash and unless you purposely count the time sigs, this album sounds like it's in 4/4 most of the time. It's not like DT where it seems like their only objective is to squeeze as many time sig and key signature changes into one 14 minute long song.

"it's like people think Metallica was just going "longer and more obscure = better"

the band has said that they went out of their way to make the songs as long as they ended up being (or something to that effect). excess for it's own sake, basically.

totally agree Dominion, I love prog, I love thrash, this is ok, felt forced, rushed, trying to prove a point that didn't need to be made, also sounds alittle hollow
