Happiness III is such a strange song. Lyrically, I mean. It's upbeat and all, but thematically it's twisted and dark.

I still can't stand how similar the verses in that song are to those of Postcard.

I know! But it doesn't bother me at all. I like it when musicians revisit musical themes.

I do too. I wonder (and if I have the chance I'm going to ask him) if most of the lyrics are autobiographical, or he's just very good in empathy and writes what he thinks happens to someone who's lost faith.

Really enjoy the opening track, overall ithe album is really cool too. Only thing that grates me about it is the female vox on 'Don't Hate Me'. If she didn't do that goddam high pitched crack at the start of every line she'd be fine but it made me physically cringe anticipating it every time.

Steven Wilson released his entire solo catalogue on streaming services today, which is an interesting decision from the same guy who was blowtorching iPods and mouthing off about Mp3's not too long ago.... Here's a great interview he did recently on it.

Cool interview. He makes some great points.

yeah at some parts he almost sounds defeated, but I think he's just conceded on the matter and accepted streaming and the MP3 format as the industry and societal standard now.

well, when one's facing undeniable arguements and still won't change his mind, we call him stupid, don't we?
