Well 'Wave' is most certainly a 5 too, probably the best Lambchop song period

can't wait to get into this and give it a 1.5

If I'm being honest the title track is probably my favorite - the opening run is perfect too but there's just something about that song I swoon for. Love the reggae-ish bit.

I mean if this is country how can it be good?

Someday you will learn, my child.
(Also this isn't really all that country, it's pretty far out there on the alt-country spectrum and even then it doesn't really sound like any other alt-country I've heard.)

So if it doesn't sound like country is it safe for me to check?

ALA if you're really that resistant to country then you'll have a much harder time with Magnolia Electric Co if/when you get around to it than with this, trust me
I'd say it's safe.

Check it if you want - be warned though, it's the definition of a slow burner.

@Doof feel free to consider my "Wave" rating a 4.749, it is very close to a 5 I'll admit

So what's the girl to do?
Sits on the couch and she's feeling blue
Shakes it in the cup
And she doesn't mind if it stays up... up... up, oh...

Not sure if this is a 5 for me just yet. If I 5 this, I decide that I prefer it to Blood on the Tracks, Wake of the Flood, Either/Or and several other albums which are near and dear to me but are just short of the 5, and I don't think I'm ready to do so.
Phenomenal album nonetheless, in the 4.6-4.7 range for me and probably my favorite discovery so far in 2017.

Saw some dudes from Sherwin Williams repainting my neighbor's house and had to revisit this ("the link between profound and pain covers you like Sherwin Williams"). Perfect jam for a cool spring evening at sunset.

Went out for an evening walk with this album's caress coursing through my headphones and it just felt ~perfect~
I'm beginning to think Doof might have been right about this being a 5... at this point the only thing holding me back is the question of whether this is better than Either/Or for me personally.
Might just 5 both and leave it at that
