I need to revisit this. I dug it more than their previous album but didn't give it as much attention

It's damn good, I just found this more digestible I guess. By ulver standards anyway.

New Intronaut rules, so many amazing albums this past couple years.

This will be my first Intronaut. I've seen them live before never listened to an album.

Valley of Smoke is one of my all time favorite prog metal albums, all their stuff is great though. Prehistoricisms is mind-bending riffing madness, Void is very post-metal influenced, and Habitual Levitations is good for a more chilled out prog and stoner rock/heavy metal atmosphere.

It was recommended that I start with Prehistoricisms, but that all sounds fantastic

I just went in order a year or two ago, might've heard Valley a few years before but can't remember. Prehistoricisms would make for a good starting point, many consider it their best.

It's a tad long, though.

True, it is a bit too long. But it's still so goddamn good.

A little disappointing for me but still great, particularly the last third/quarter of the album which is stunning.

It was about time they made a long album. Besides Marriages and Childhood's End, almost all of their releases are under 40 minutes, as amazing as they are.

Yeah, but I get his point in that it does drag a bit. Literally the only flaw with this album, though.

I actually wish this was longer. The closing track especially would've been much more interesting if it was longer. This is actually one of my favorite albums by this band tho
