one of my favorite bands, i've seen these guys in concert twice now and they pretty much destroy venues, thrill seeker is one of my favorite albums and in a genre that could be in danger of sounding all the same, these guys are surely unique and bring a different sound and feel not only in they're music but also in they're lyrics

yeah this was an excellent buy on my part. I bought this not knowing what i was getting myself into, and i didnt expect a metalcore sound at all, I guess i was expecting something a bit mainstreamey (?).
Im not sure what to rate this though, i guess a 3.5/5 would be fair since im stingie when it comes to 4/5's.

i just picked this up, and i must say, its become a favorite of mine. i love the lead work, and the solo in Barbarian is pretty catchy. great drumming as well, its never boring.
i was really impressed with the aggression of this album. i was also impressed with the way the band can create softer moments by simply playing a melodic guitar lead, even while the screaming was taking place.
great review man, just fix some gramatical issues and you're set.

I think its a good album, and I really like the lead guitar work. Some of the breakdowns are great, and some of them were unnecasary (where's the spell-check). Although not too high on replay value, still a solid album.

Dennis: I know bands hate this question typically but where did you guys come up with the band name and what does it mean to you?
Brent: Well, actually the name has a real gross meaning behind it, our very first singer witnessed a horrible accident about 3 years ago that involved a friend of his loosing his hand in a wood chopping accident. Apparently it was real hot out, and in the month of August, thus the name came about. We know it's really cliche and everything, but things took off really fast for us and we just never got around to changing it.
This is actually where they got the name, this comes from a wisemenproductions interview with brent, the lead guitarist of ABR.
if you wanna read the full interview.

great review, alright album. one of the guitarists, JD Burbaker, looks exactly like me. I was at one of their shows recently and i looked up on stage and literally saw myself. quite a frightening experience.

either one of us is wrong on where they got their name from or ABR is just telling different stories to different people, skeeter999. i forget what site/interview i read that in..so i cant really go back and see if it was incorrect or not. hmmm..

The song "Your Suburbia is in Ruins" is definitive metalcore. Those riffs can melt your face

Answering Cravinov13, no, they are not much like Demon Hunter. They're songs are very fast, as in the drums are almost constantly going.
At least I like them :D
